David graduated from the University
of Southern California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor
of Science in Accounting degree in 1977 and received
a Master of Business Administration, magna cum laude
and his J.D. degree, both in 1980. In 1982 he became
a C.P.A. in California.
David has served as an expert witness on tax matters,
and has had numerous articles published in taxation
journals, including The Journal of Taxation, Taxation
For Lawyers, The Practical Tax Lawyer, and Taxation
For Accountants. His articles have also appeared
in The Los Angeles Business Journal, The Daily Journal,
and other publications.
He has authored chapters in the California Continuing
Education of the Bar ("CEB") book, "Capitalizing
and Protecting New Businesses", authored various
book supplements for CEB, served as a consultant for
CEB publications ("Business Buy Sell Agreements"
and "Selecting and Forming Business Entities"),
and authored books for the California Society of CPAs
on tax procedure and the California Escrow Association
on real estate tax procedures.
He is a CEB instructor ("Recent Developments In
Business Law Practice", "Advising California
Professional Partnerships and Corporations", "Accounting
For Lawyers", and "Selecting and Forming Business
Entities"), and has taught for the U.S. Federal
Court, the Tax Section of the State Bar of California
("Corporate Tax Planning and Drafting For The Acquisition
and Disposition of Corporate Business", "Tax
Planning For Real Estate Dispositions and Exchanges",
"New Developments In Estate and Gift Planning",
and "Section 1031 Exchanges"), the California
C.P.A. Foundation, and U.C.L.A. Extension.
David joined the Firm in January of 1993, and specializes
in corporate, tax, real estate and estate planning.
